What has been mentioned for a long time is now becoming a fact, Microsoft Kaizala will be integrated into Office 365.

Almost a year ago, Microsoft announced that Kaizala will become a permanent part of Microsoft teams:

“we will be bringing Kaizala capabilities into Microsoft Teams as an integrated offering. We expect the integration to happen in phases over the next 12-18 months, and we will provide more details about the Kaizala and Teams integration roadmap later this quarter.”

What’s Kaizala?

Microsoft Kaizala is an instant messenger from Microsoft that is included in the office package Microsoft Office 365.
It allows people to communicate easily over and within organizations. Kaizala makes it easy to get in touch with colleagues, suppliers, distributors, partners and customers through a simple chat interface.

With Kaizala, instant messages, promotions and invoices can be sent. In addition, it is easy to plan working hours, provide training materials, and send attachments such as pictures, documents, videos, audio files, and more. Kaizala enables instant feedback from other people about anything you want. With Kaizala actions, surveys and polls can be sent to thousands of people. All responses are automatically aggregated and presented in a readable report.

What’s next with Kaizala free?

Kaizala Pro will be replaced by Microsoft Teams in Office 365. Besides, there is also a free version of Kaizala available for everyone. Currently it is unclear if this free service will be offered any more.

To be up to date, I recommend to visit the Microsoft products website regularly or read the blogs of Raphael Köllner or Tom Arbuthnot.

Kaizala never had a chance.

Besides WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, Threema and other services, Kaizala also had Microsoft internal rivals with Teams, Yammer, and Skype for Business.
The differences to all these tools were too small for the product to have been able to prevail.
I understand Microsoft well that they tried to create their own messenger service for businesses, but I understand even more that now this step was decided to integrate the services into Microsoft Teams.
Microsoft Teams has become one of the most important communication tools not only since the COVID-19 epidemic, it will be enhanced by Kaizala and its features.
